Position Overview

CAGE Engineering Inc. is currently seeking motivated civil engineering interns to contribute to our projects. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience and take on significant responsibilities. Your role will involve developing technical skills essential for producing design documents and calculations, including code research, site planning, stormwater management calculations, and preparation of permit documents.

A Day in the Life
  • Act as an integral member of a design team working on diverse residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
  • Gain exposure to land development design concepts and consulting across various projects.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to design and draft land development plans.
  • Prepare site plans, grading, and utility plans based on learned constraints.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to review concept plans and discuss project direction.
  • Participate in site visits to collect data for design purposes.
  • Assist in drafting and preparing engineering documents using AutoCAD or other design software.
  • Attend meetings with the project team to discuss timelines, budgets, and design constraints.
Necessary Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong academic performance with coursework in civil engineering principles, materials, and methods.
  • Familiarity with CAD software.
  • Focused, motivated, and results-oriented.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eager to learn and embrace new challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and accept constructive feedback.
  • Strong teamwork skills and effective communication abilities.
