Job Description

The Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a highly skilled Marketing Director to join our team. As a key member of our marketing department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies to create broad awareness of Penn LDI and its activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and independently spearhead our outreach initiatives and marketing campaigns for public events, partnerships, professional organizations, educational offerings, and other Penn LDI activities as needed.
  • Create comprehensive promotion plans that utilize social media, print and digital content, website, email marketing, and collateral.
  • Oversee related content production to ensure messaging consistency and effectiveness, provide guidance to Penn LDI's copy editors and graphic designers for marketing products, monitor and report on the progress and results of outreach efforts, and conduct marketing research to identify trends, benchmarks, and topic-specific marketing opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with Penn LDI's communications team to ensure that all communications and marketing efforts are working in tandem to optimize and professionalize Penn LDI's branding.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in communication (or a related field) and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience are required.
  • A proven record of strategic marketing and successful audience growth in a prior position is required.
  • Educational background and/or professional experience in a non-profit organization or in health care or policy is strongly preferred.
  • The Senior Associate Director of Communications must be detail oriented, excel at problem solving, have strong writing and copyediting skills, excel at multi-tasking, and be a self-starter with a results orientation.
  • This position will interact with a variety of individuals within and outside the University, so strong interpersonal communication skills are essential.
  • The Senior Associate Director of Communications should have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
