Position Summary:

The Medical Support Specialist will engage in a variety of patient care functions and associated services under the supervision of the healthcare team. Responsibilities may encompass measuring and documenting vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examinations, drawing blood samples, and administering medications as instructed by the physician.

Work Schedule:

· Flexible hours, including potential evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient interviews and exits, ensuring completion of necessary medical forms and obtaining informed consent.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of patient charts, checking for errors and required signatures.
  • Provide guidance to individuals seeking information about available services.
  • Perform phlebotomy, administer injections, take vital signs, and assist with patient examinations as directed by the healthcare provider, including visual acuity tests, audiometric screenings, and venipuncture.
  • Facilitate patient flow within the clinic.
  • Maintain and replenish medical supplies.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of examination rooms.
  • Support healthcare providers as needed.
  • Process laboratory specimens according to established protocols.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including recording and filing lab results, communicating findings, and managing abnormal test results.
  • Route patient charts to the appropriate personnel at the conclusion of clinic sessions.
  • Perform front office duties, including answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, retrieving charts, and checking in patients.
  • Adhere strictly to the clinic's policies and procedures.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Clinic Manager or Operations Director.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred).
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Willingness to travel between facilities as needed.
  • This role involves approximately 10% travel outside the local area.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Northeast Community Clinic.
  • Current CPR and/or BLS certification.
  • Valid state identification required.
