Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Instructional Aide - Bilingual Support Specialist to join our team at Green Dot Public Schools. This role will provide critical support to our students, teachers, and staff in ensuring the success of our emergent bilingual students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with teachers and specialists to implement instructional programs and supports for emergent bilingual students.
  • Work individually or in small groups with emergent bilingual students to support access to lesson content in various academic subjects.
  • Communicate with students in English and a designated second language to facilitate instructional processes.
  • Support the school's implementation of the English Language Proficiency Assessment for California (ELPAC).
  • Provide translation services for parent-teacher conferences and other communication with limited or non-English speaking parents.
  • Observe and report student behavior and support the implementation of the school's behavior policy.
  • Use technology platforms and applications to support student learning.
  • Assist students with emotional support, patience, and guidance.
  • Ensure the health and safety of students by following health and safety practices and procedures.
  • Participate in meetings, in-service training programs, and field trips as assigned.
  • Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Possess a high school diploma (or equivalent) and one of the following: completion of at least two years of college, attainment of an AA (or higher) degree, or passage of the CA Spanish Language Instructional Assistance Test.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
  • Strong skills in MS Word and Excel, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written forums.
  • Experience working with adolescents/children in a structured environment, preferably in a school or related organizational activity.
  • Dependability, a sense of humor, and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot's mission and the communities we serve.
