Augusta University College of Nursing is seeking a dedicated full-time faculty member for the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, specifically in the Family Nurse Practitioner track. This role is available at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. The College of Nursing is a prominent institution within the University System of Georgia, serving over 1000 students across multiple campuses and various academic-practice partnerships. Our location provides extensive clinical opportunities through affiliations with major health centers and a Nurse-Managed Health Center, enhancing both teaching and practical experiences in primary care, telehealth, and behavioral health.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will vary based on DNP concentration and academic rank, including but not limited to:
  • Delivering didactic instruction in core DNP and concentration courses.
  • Coordinating and assessing course content.
  • Collaborating with preceptors to facilitate student learning and evaluation.
  • Engaging in curriculum development and assessment.
  • Participating in College of Nursing and university committees.
  • Mentoring students on DNP projects.
  • Contributing to scholarly activities such as presentations and publications.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on DNP concentration.
Qualifications Required

Applicants must possess a doctorate degree relevant to nursing practice (PhD or DNP) and hold an active nursing license in Georgia or meet eligibility requirements for licensure. National Board Certification in Family Nurse Practitioner specialty is essential. Candidates for Assistant Professor should be early in their academic careers, while those for Associate Professor should have at least five years of experience at the Assistant Professor level or equivalent qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in academic teaching, both didactic and clinical, is preferred. Familiarity with technology-enhanced teaching strategies, including simulation and active learning methods, is advantageous. Evidence of professional contributions and recognition at various levels is also desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, year-round position with a commitment of 1.0 FTE. Salary and compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, subject to funding availability.
