Position Overview:

The Department of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at a leading College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applications for a faculty position specializing in small animal orthopedic surgery. This role is available at various academic ranks including assistant, associate, or full professor, and can be tailored to clinical (non-tenure) track, tenure track, or tenured faculty.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver educational instruction in orthopedic surgery within the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
  • Teach both theoretical and practical courses in orthopedics to veterinary students.
  • Engage in the training of surgical residents.
  • Establish and develop a research program, which may be conducted independently or in collaboration with other faculty members.
Facilities and Resources:

The department boasts access to cutting-edge diagnostic imaging technologies, including a 64-slice CT scanner, 3.0 Tesla MRI, digital radiography, ultrasound, and nuclear scintigraphy. The Veterinary Teaching Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility designed to support advanced clinical practices and research.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a DVM or equivalent degree and have completed or be in the process of completing a residency accredited by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) or the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS).
