Position Overview

The College of Nursing at Augusta University is actively seeking a dedicated full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor within the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, specializing in Family Nurse Practitioner. This role is integral to our comprehensive nursing education system, which serves over 1000 students across multiple campuses and partnerships with various healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities may differ based on DNP specialization and academic level:
  • Deliver engaging didactic instruction in core DNP and concentration courses.
  • Oversee course management and assessment.
  • Collaborate with preceptors to enhance student learning and evaluation.
  • Contribute to curriculum design and assessment.
  • Participate in various committees within the College of Nursing and the university.
  • Guide students through their DNP projects.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including presentations and publications.
  • Additional duties may vary according to DNP specialization.

Qualifications Required

Applicants must possess a doctorate in a relevant field (PhD, DNP) and hold an active nursing license in Georgia or meet the requirements for licensure eligibility. National Board Certification in Family Nurse Practitioner specialty is essential.

For the Assistant Professor role, candidates should be early in their academic careers, while those applying for the Associate Professor position should have at least five years of experience at the Assistant Professor level or equivalent qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in academic teaching, both didactic and clinical, is highly desirable. Familiarity with technology-enhanced teaching methods, including simulation and active learning strategies, is preferred. Evidence of professional contributions and recognition at various levels is also advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

This position operates on a fiscal year basis with a full-time commitment (1.0 FTE). Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
