Position Summary:
We are in search of a proficient Systems Modeling Engineer to become an integral part of our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) division. This position is vital for the development of large-scale energy storage solutions. You will be responsible for making critical thermal and electrical decisions, performing comprehensive simulations of essential components, and working collaboratively with diverse teams to propel product innovation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to optimization, exceptional documentation capabilities, and effective communication skills to enhance our product development process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define system and component design specifications through meticulous modeling of energy storage systems under various conditions.
- Identify and improve key performance metrics to enhance system design.
- Validate models with experimental data and adjust them based on testing outcomes.
- Conduct thorough investigations and clearly communicate assumptions and results.
- Lead the creation and selection of essential tools and methodologies.
- Work closely with cross-disciplinary teams to inform design choices.
- Foster a culture of rapid prototyping and testing.
- Exhibit teamwork and a proactive approach to tasks of all sizes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5-10 years of experience in power systems engineering.
- Strong grasp of electrical and thermal engineering concepts.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink or Python programming.
- Familiarity with high voltage battery technologies or power electronics.
- Experience in product design and manufacturing for medium to high volume.
- Hands-on experience in prototyping, validation, and testing processes.
- Genuine interest in renewable energy and sustainability initiatives.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with high voltage battery systems and power electronics.
