Job Overview

Adams Communication & Engineering Technology, Inc. is looking for a Hazardous Materials Management Specialist. This position is essential for ensuring the safe handling, storage, and transportation of hazardous substances within our operations. The role is pivotal in maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies to avert incidents, spills, and environmental hazards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the site’s hazardous materials program.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of HAZMAT management principles and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of aviation-related tools and equipment management.
  • Manage the inventory, storage, and distribution of tools and equipment used in aviation.
  • Conduct regular inspections of tools and equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
  • Track tool distribution and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Order and repair tools and equipment as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in hazardous materials management within the last four years.
  • Experience in planning and managing a comprehensive HAZMAT program.
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED certificate.
  • Certification in HAZCOM and Hazardous Material Handling.
  • Experience in an industrial setting with familiarity in heavy machinery and aviation tools.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary access credentials.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to pass required physical and drug tests.
  • Willingness to work in various physical positions, including overhead tasks.
  • Ability to perform duties at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Travel may be a component of this role.
