About This Opportunity

We are seeking a Mortuary Service Assistant to join our team at Park Lawn Memorial Group, LLC. As a valued member of our staff, you will have the opportunity to work with client families to arrange and carry out memorial services for their loved ones.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will assist in consulting with client families to create personalized memorial services that meet their needs and expectations.
  • You will ensure that all necessary documentation is completed accurately and efficiently, including obituaries, death certificates, and burial permits.
  • You will participate in service arrangements and details, working closely with clergy, other presiding persons, and funeral homes as needed.
  • You will utilize technology to record merchandise selections, enter contracts, and complete necessary forms.
  • You will assist with planning and scheduling of visitations and services.
  • You will work under the direction of a licensed funeral director or embalmer to prepare the deceased for viewing.
  • You will assist with placing caskets in visitation areas, adjusting light fixtures, and arranging flowers or plants.
  • You will direct and usher families and service attendees to and from the location of the funeral service.
  • You will transport client families to ensure timely departures and arrivals.
  • You will assist with arranging and coordinating shipments of remains to and from other cities and locations.
  • You will work removals/first-calls as needed.

Requirements

  • A four-year degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is preferred.
  • You must be actively enrolled in a mortuary school/program and able to pass applicable board exams.
  • You must have a valid state-issued driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
