Role Summary:
The Director of Communications and Marketing will oversee the communication strategies for the George Washington University Law School, aligning with the broader marketing and communication goals of the institution. This role involves managing and expanding the law school's communication platforms, such as the website, social media, newsletters, and print materials, in accordance with the established marketing and communication framework.
The Director will collaborate with law school leadership to continuously refine the school's approach to communication and marketing, ensuring alignment with best practices. Reporting to the Vice President of Communications and Marketing, this position also maintains accountability to the Dean of the Law School.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the law school's reputation.
- Oversee management of strategic communication channels.
- Lead website development and management efforts.
- Foster partnerships across various university departments to ensure a unified communication strategy.
- Coordinate with external partners and key stakeholders.
- Direct marketing and communication initiatives across diverse platforms.
- Conduct reporting and analysis to measure effectiveness.
- Manage media relations and crisis communication efforts.
- Support internal communication strategies.
- Assist the Dean with communication-related tasks.
- Lead communications for events and initiatives.
- Oversee production of print and digital publications.
- Develop communication strategies for admissions and alumni relations.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at least 8 years of professional experience, or a Master's degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. Educational qualifications must be completed by the start date of employment. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
