Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the most vulnerable members of our community. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Development Officer to lead our fundraising efforts and help us achieve our mission.

About the Role

The Chief Development Officer will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes individual, corporate, and foundation giving, as well as government grants and contracts. This individual will serve as a key member of our executive team and will provide leadership and direction to our development team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan that aligns with the organization's mission and goals
  • Lead a team of development professionals to achieve fundraising goals
  • Build and maintain relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners
  • Identify and pursue new funding opportunities
  • Develop and implement a results-oriented team culture
  • Meet or exceed personal annual fundraising goals
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or related field
  • 7 or more years of progressively responsible senior leadership experience in fundraising
  • Proven track record of successfully developing major donor fundraising strategies and securing gifts
  • Experience in marketing and communications approaches and strategies using best practices and current technologies
