Job Summary

The Office of the Chief Information Officer is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight on all matters related to the integration, development, and utilization of artificial intelligence technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and communicate a comprehensive AI strategy that supports the CIO's mission and objectives.
  • Lead the identification of opportunities for leveraging AI to enhance operation efficiency, improve decision-making processes, and drive innovation across HUD.
  • Oversee the integration of AI technologies into existing systems and processes to enhance functionality, optimize performance, and achieve organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across government agencies, industry partners, and academic institutions to advance the adoption of AI technologies and drive innovation in support of national priorities.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with the implementation of AI technologies, including cybersecurity threats, data biases, and algorithmic fairness concerns.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of AI initiatives.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to complete personnel security vetting (i.e., investigation, evaluation, and adjudication).
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Males must be registered with the Selective Service System.
  • Financial Disclosure may be required.
  • Will be required by P.L to have federal payments made by direct deposit.
Qualifications

Mandatory Technical Qualifications (MTQs):

  • Demonstrated experience in AI research, development, implementation, and demonstrated leadership in complex organizational settings.
  • Knowledge and understanding of AI technologies, algorithms, and methodologies, with expertise in machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and other AI disciplines.
  • Demonstrated senior-level work experience of strategic planning, policy development, and program management in the field of AI or technology innovation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices related to AI governance, ethics, and compliance.

This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
