Job Title: Deputy Director of Application Development

Job Summary:

The Deputy Director of Application Development will work closely with Agency stakeholders to understand business strategy drivers and business problems to be solved by a given solution. This role will assess existing and future solutions requirements and support vendor selection. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, and management of infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess existing and future solutions requirements and support vendor selection.
  • Assess technology across the enterprise application/technology portfolio.
  • Confirm the conformance of applications, components, and services to established standards and best practices.
  • Identify probable system or design flaws and escalate issues to upper management.
  • Assist in the development and review of technical specifications for procurement of IT systems and services.
  • Liaise with IT vendors as necessary.
  • Ensure technology solutions adhere to security policies and guidelines.
  • Supervise the Application Development group and ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Provide leadership for end-to-end solution delivery and ownership.
  • Drive best practices in application development and ensure security controls are in place.
  • Lead design and development of solutions for agency business users.
  • Maintain knowledge on current and emerging technologies and industry trends.

Requirements:

  • A baccalaureate degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field from an accredited college.
  • Four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, management of infrastructure.
  • Or eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, management of infrastructure.
