About the Role

The First Deputy Executive Director will serve as a strategic advisor to the Executive Director and will be responsible for leading the agency's Strategy, Products & Innovation Division. This division will be responsible for developing and implementing the agency's strategic plan, as well as overseeing the design, development, and management of agency products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume executive responsibility for agency functions, programs, projects, and initiatives in the absence of the Executive Director.
  • Represent the Executive Director at hearings, meetings, and events when the Executive Director is unavailable or otherwise unable to attend.
  • Serve as a liaison with external partners and stakeholders.
  • Lead implementation of the agency's strategic plan.
  • Manage prioritization, sequencing, and collaboration on complex product and service design and management projects across multiple divisions within the agency and with consultant experts.
  • Lead regular assessment of the strategic plan and, in collaboration with the Executive Director and executive team, adjusting strategies and initiatives as necessary to advance the CFB's mission, vision, values, and strategic imperative.
  • Work with internal and external experts to develop and implement tools and metrics for systematic evaluation of products, services, programs, and processes across the agency.
  • Monitor industry best practices, emerging trends, and technological advancements related to product, service, data, systems, and project management and collaborate with agency staff to promote adoption of best practices to ensure best-in-class product and service delivery by the CFB.
  • Directly supervise the day-to-day work of the Strategy, Products & Innovation Division.
  • Facilitate opportunities for growth and support ongoing professional development of Strategy, Products & Innovation Division staff.
  • Set standards and goals for the Strategy, Products & Innovation Division, ensuring that ongoing projects support the agency's overall mission.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or its educational equivalent and two years of satisfactory, full-time progressively responsible administrative experience requiring independent decision-making concerning program management or planning, allocation of resources, and the scheduling and assignment of work. 18 months of this experience must have been in a supervisory, administrative, managerial, or executive capacity.
