JOB SUMMARY:
This role is pivotal in the assembly of mechanical and electro-mechanical boards, hardware, and various door products, including highly configurable complex units and assemblies. Responsibilities include setting up jobs, soldering components to printed boards, performing re-work, packaging products, and executing additional tasks as necessary.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Proficiently reading and interpreting bills of materials (BOM) to accurately select materials for scheduled work orders.

• Assembling mechanical and electro-mechanical complex units and boards, utilizing a variety of components such as electronic parts, PC boards, covers, plates, boxes, screws, nuts, and wires.

• Meeting or exceeding production standards.

• Operating machines, hand tools, small power tools, voltage meters, and testing equipment to assemble and evaluate products.

• Reviewing work orders to ensure the availability of materials, tools, equipment, and resources for production tasks.

• Following process sheets to assemble boards and units for both standard and custom orders.

• Working from samples, drawings, blueprints, and written or verbal instructions. Soldering components and wires to printed circuit boards and completing re-work as needed.

• Stripping, wrapping wires, and connecting units.

• Inserting small components and/or wires onto printed circuit boards.

• Packaging products and preparing them for shipment, ensuring compliance with workmanship standards.

• Reading work orders or following verbal instructions to determine materials needed. Attaching identifying labels to finished products, boxes, and containers as per work instructions.

• Assisting in the movement of materials, parts, and products as required. Identifying items and determining stock locations, storing items in bins, racks, or shelves according to part numbers.

• Ensuring adherence to assigned production work orders and communicating any deviations promptly.

• Conducting in-process inspections to verify that products meet specifications and quality standards, reporting any variances to the lead or supervisor.

• Collaborating with Quality Auditors to ensure all production output aligns with specifications to minimize variances, waste, and customer complaints.


Production Ownership:
Accountable for the efficiency, productivity, and accuracy of produced items to reduce backlog, consistently meeting or exceeding standard rates.

Attendance:

• Arriving on time at the start of shifts, after breaks, and being prepared to work immediately upon clocking in.

• Maintaining professional appearance and communication skills to foster a respectful and team-oriented work environment.

• Supporting cross-training initiatives for production staff and new hires. Reporting any building, equipment sanitation, OSHA, and safety concerns without delay.

• Demonstrating continuous improvement in production output and facility cleanliness.

• Upholding cleanliness, organization, quality control, and safety standards in the work area. Adhering to established procedures and operational controls to comply with legal requirements.

• Following safe working practices and utilizing required personal protective equipment. Performing additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate required. Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment with soldering skills is essential.
• Proficiency in soldering and mechanical aptitude with hand tools, small power tools, and soldering irons.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, prints, and engineering documentation.
• Skills in basic mathematical calculations.
• Capability to distinguish colors for color-coding practices.
• Ability to perform detailed repetitive tasks for extended periods, with strong attention to detail and effective planning and time management skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to listen effectively and interact tactfully.
• Capacity to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.
• Willingness to work weekends and overtime as necessary.

• Visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand-eye coordination, and the ability to utilize near and far vision, depth perception, and manual dexterity are essential for working with various materials and operating basic office equipment.
