Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled construction professional to join our team as an Experienced Playground Installation Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of playground sites, reading and interpreting blueprints, and safely assembling and installing playground structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Preparation: Assist in the excavation, grading, and drainage of playground sites to ensure a safe and stable environment for installation.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate installation of playground equipment.
  • Installation and Assembly: Safely and efficiently assemble, install, and anchor playground structures, swings, slides, and other components according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other team members to ensure quality and timely completion of projects.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate construction equipment and tools, such as drills, saws, and compactors, in a safe and effective manner.
  • Inspections and Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Work Environment: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper disposal of materials and debris.
  • Compliance and Safety: Comply with all instructions given by the construction manager, and work with other team members to complete construction projects accurately.
  • Temporary Structures: Build temporary structures such as signs, cones, barricades, ramps, and other devices to control traffic around the construction site and tear down old structures.
  • Support and Collaboration: Support craft workers, sub-contractors, and other tradesmen as needed.
  • Material Handling: Carry, load, and unload tools and building materials such as sheetrock, saws, lumber, tile, grout, etc.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction or a related field.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of construction techniques, tools, and materials. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications. Experience operating construction equipment and machinery preferred.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Equivalent, GED, or high school diploma is required - Associate's degree, trade certification, and/or completed apprenticeship program is highly preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Physical stamina and physical strength are needed. Solid mechanical skills are needed, as are good eye-hand coordination and depth perception. Able to work in inclement weather like extreme temperatures, rain, etc.
