Telecommunications Engineering Lead

ActioNet is on the lookout for a highly proficient and seasoned Telecommunications Engineering Lead to enhance our team. The ideal candidate will be tasked with overseeing telecommunications initiatives, conducting site assessments, and ensuring the successful execution of projects while adhering to budgetary limits. This position demands exceptional analytical, design, and communication abilities, coupled with practical experience in various stages of Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP) technologies.

Compensation: $155-187K

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead telecommunications projects, including assessing necessary materials, workforce, and timelines.
  • Conduct site evaluations to determine project needs and provide precise estimates.
  • Effectively communicate project specifics both verbally and in writing to guarantee successful outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation outlining required tasks.
  • Supervise all construction phases, including ISP and OSP installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Design, test, administer, configure, implement, and sustain network telecommunications systems.
  • Offer technical support related to telecommunications activities and integrate various network operating systems, protocols, and topologies.
  • Create standardized operational procedures and related documentation.
  • Assess new technologies and recommend their implementation.
  • Analyze system upgrade requirements, including hardware/software resources and logistical considerations.
  • Conduct surveys and utilize other methods to gather customer feedback.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements, lessons learned, and best practices to management.
  • Coordinate production releases and rollouts, delegate responsibilities, and report on project progress and outcomes.
  • Prepare a written Quality Control Plan (QCP) and conduct Quality Control Audits.
  • Maintain Quality Assurance records throughout the project lifecycle.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
  • Design and installation of a multi-enclave Passive Optical Network (PON) environment.
  • Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of multi-enclave PON setups.
  • Manage installations involving numerous Optical Network Terminals (ONTs) across various buildings and the complete configuration of network management systems in a virtual environment.
  • Ensure the integration of multi-enclave PON systems with existing network management instances.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure seamless communication and coordination across projects.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of experience as a Network Telecommunications Engineer.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in designing network telecommunication solutions.
  • Experience in Site Survey Engineering Implementation.
  • BICSI RCDD Certification.
  • Familiarity with RMF processes.
  • Experience in designing and installing multi-enclave PON environments.
  • DoD Secret clearance.
