Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Policy Associate to support our policy advocacy goals on national, state, and local levels.

About the Role

The Policy Associate will assist in organization, scheduling, and logistics for meetings, conferences, and events. They will also support the policy team with communications, coordination, policy analysis, written products, and any other operational tasks related to coalitions and working groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policy initiatives and campaigns.
  • Support the policy team in researching and analyzing policy issues, identifying trends, and developing recommendations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including elected officials, community leaders, and other organizations.
  • Assist in the development of policy briefs, reports, and other written materials.
  • Provide administrative support to the policy team, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and maintaining records.
  • Participate in coalitions and working groups to advance NAPAWF's policy priorities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of advocacy campaigns, including social media and other outreach efforts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as public policy, politics, or international relations.
  • At least one year of experience in a field related to policy advocacy, such as government, non-profit, or private sector.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and present it in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong commitment to social justice and the mission of NAPAWF.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working on policy issues related to social justice, including reproductive health, immigrant rights, and economic justice.
  • Knowledge of legislative processes and procedures.
  • Experience working with coalitions and working groups.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality written materials.
Benefits
  • Annual salary range: $55,000 to $74,000 - commensurate with experience.
  • Highly competitive benefits package includes a 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • NAPAWF's medical plan is covered by NAPAWF at 100% for employees and dependents with no out of pocket costs, including prescription drugs costs.
  • Qualified dependents may also be covered.
  • NAPAWF also offers full-time employees 16 days of vacation in the first year, sick leave, flexible spending program options and personal/family leave, as well as paid vacation between December 25 and January 1 of each year.
