About the Role

The Institute for Higher Education Policy is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting equity and justice in higher education. We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations and Administrative Support:
    • Manage the organization's IT needs, including leading weekly check-in meetings, identifying and troubleshooting technology issues, and maintaining content on SharePoint pages.
    • Support logistics for internal and external meetings, including venue selection, contract negotiations, travel arrangements, and technology support.
    • Manage contract logistics with vendors, contractors, and consultants, including ensuring adherence to internal policies and assessing risk.
    • Provide administrative support to staff across the organization as needed.
  • Office Management:
    • Manage the relationship between building management and staff, report/oversee maintenance needs, and manage use of hoteling spaces.
    • Manage in-office hardware and provide staff training as needed.
    • Serve as the point-of-contact and manage the relationship with our co-lessee, TICAS, around our shared office space.
    • Monitor and order office supplies.
    • Manage the orderliness of office common areas.
Qualifications, Experiences, and Skills
  • Three to five years of experience in a similar role.
  • An unwavering belief in the power of higher education as a vehicle for social mobility and racial justice.
  • Strong analytical, critical, and strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and work under pressure, as well as strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through and push projects to completion amidst competing responsibilities.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adaptable to changing priorities in such a way that contributes to a project or team's success.
  • Self-motivated and eager contributor to a team who shares in the accolades of successes.
  • Desire to continuously improve skills and develop professionally.
  • Values and contributes to a respectful work environment with an openness and inclusion to all viewpoints.
  • Ability to travel (10-15%).

Benefits

Salary is commensurate with experience. The starting salary range for the position is $65,000-75,000.
