JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

The HR Business Partner Generalist plays a pivotal role in crafting, executing, and enhancing people strategies to optimize employee performance within the business units they support. Acting as a crucial technical ally for their designated business unit, this role operates under the guidance of a more seasoned HR Business Partner. Collaboration with business and human resources teams, including talent management, organizational health and diversity, talent acquisition, and Total Rewards, is essential to develop and implement strategies focused on attracting, nurturing, and retaining a diverse workforce that aligns with Entergy's vision of becoming the Premier Utility.

  • Utilizes analysis and interpretation of business and personnel data to provide insights and recommendations aimed at enhancing business outcomes. The HRBP Generalist is expected to translate data into actionable strategies that the business can implement to boost employee performance, necessitating strong influencing capabilities.
  • Provides comprehensive support in all aforementioned areas, with a specific focus on assisting line managers in performance management, disciplinary actions, and employee relations. The HRBP Generalist may also lead straightforward investigations into workplace concerns.
  • Stays informed on current and emerging trends in all facets of HR. Collaborates with other HR Business Partners to integrate new trends into existing and future strategies. Offers guidance on HR practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Engages in HR and enterprise-wide committees and spearheads special projects. Builds collaborative relationships across HR, Shared Services, and other necessary groups to achieve HR objectives. Acts as a resource for less experienced employees.
  • Contributes to initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and promoting diversity and inclusion within supported business units.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent work experience preferred.
Minimum experience required:
  • HRBP Generalist II: 2 years of HR or related experience without a degree or 1 year with a degree.
  • HRBP Generalist III: 4 years of HR or related experience without a degree or 3 years with a degree.
  • HRBP Generalist Sr: 6 years of HR or related experience without a degree or 5 years with a degree.
  • Preferred: Previous HR experience in Performance Management, Discipline, and Training/Development.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
  • Diverse functional knowledge across multiple HR domains.
  • Ability to manage complex and varied tasks.
  • Adaptability to changing circumstances; advocates for change.
  • May lead projects and processes with minimal oversight.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); capable of utilizing advanced features.
  • Advanced knowledge of HR Management Systems or HRIS.
  • Ability to create, run, and analyze queries and reports.
  • Monitors external best practices and suggests enhancements across various HR disciplines.
  • Effective presenter and communicator for both internal and external audiences.
  • Influential communicator; adept at conveying complex concepts.
  • Proficient in solving intricate problems and translating HR data into actionable advice.
  • Proactively identifies issues and formulates effective solutions.
  • Recommends and implements process improvements as needed.
  • May contribute to projects as a subject matter expert while maintaining day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR generalist support.
  • Highly organized and results-driven.
  • Ability to identify and address employee relations issues.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive presentations and public speaking.
Certifications:
  • SPHR/PHR certification preferred.
