JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

The HR Business Partner Generalist plays a pivotal role in the formulation, execution, and ongoing enhancement of workforce strategies to optimize employee performance within the designated business units. This position serves as a vital technical collaborator for the respective business unit, working under the guidance of a more seasoned HR Business Partner. The role necessitates collaboration with business and HR teams, including talent management, organizational health and diversity, talent acquisition, and Total Rewards, to devise and implement strategies aimed at attracting, nurturing, and retaining a diverse workforce that will empower Entergy to realize its vision of becoming the Premier Utility.

  • Utilizes analysis and interpretation of business and workforce data to provide insights and recommendations that drive enhanced business outcomes. The HRBP Generalist may need to interpret and translate data into actionable insights that the business can leverage to enhance employee performance. This requires effective communication of insights in a manner that resonates with the business, necessitating strong influencing skills.
  • Responsible for providing comprehensive support in all outlined areas, with a specific focus on assisting line managers in performance management, disciplinary actions, and employee relations. The HRBP Generalist may also lead straightforward investigations into workplace issues.
  • Stays informed on current and emerging trends in all facets of HR. Collaborates with other HR Business Partners to integrate new trends and developments into current and future strategies. Provides guidance on HR practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Engages in HR and enterprise-wide committees and spearheads special projects. Builds collaborative relationships across all HR functions, Shared Services, and other necessary groups to achieve HR objectives. Acts as a resource for less experienced team members.
  • Promotes initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and fostering diversity and inclusion within the supported business units.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education required for the position
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field and/or equivalent work experience preferred
Minimum experience required for the position
  • HRBP Generalist II: 2 years of HR or related experience without a degree or 1 year of HR or related experience with a degree
  • HRBP Generalist III: 4 years of HR or related experience without a degree or 3 years of HR or related experience with a degree
  • HRBP Generalist Sr: 6 years of HR or related experience without a degree or 5 years of HR or related experience with a degree
  • Preferred:
    • Prior HR experience in Performance Management, Discipline, Training/Development
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position
  • Possesses diverse functional knowledge across multiple HR domains
  • Capable of performing complex work that may be broad/diverse in scope
  • Adapts easily to changing circumstances; champions change
  • May lead projects, processes, or resources with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); able to utilize complex functions effectively
  • Advanced knowledge of HR Management systems or experience with HRIS
  • Able to write, execute, and analyze queries and reports
  • Actively monitors external best practices and provides recommendations for enhancements across various HR disciplines
  • Able to present and communicate effectively in both internal and external settings
  • Influential communicator; capable of articulating complex concepts
  • Able to resolve intricate problems and translate HR data into actionable advice
  • Proactively identifies issues and develops effective solutions or alternatives
  • Capable of recommending and implementing efficiency improvements as they arise without waiting for direction
  • May contribute to projects as a subject matter expert while maintaining ongoing responsibilities for day-to-day operations
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders internally and externally
  • Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of HR generalist support
