Transforming Lives through Vision Care
La Clínica de La Raza is seeking a dedicated Optometrist to join our team of passionate eye care professionals. As a champion of vision health, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our diverse patient population.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to diagnose and treat various eye conditions, including glaucoma and color blindness.
- Prescribe and fit eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision aids to improve patients' quality of life.
- Develop treatment plans and analyze test results to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries, such as cataract and laser vision correction.
- Train assistants to perform screening and other functions as appropriate.
- Prescribe therapeutic procedures to correct or conserve vision.
Patient Experience:
- Educate and counsel patients on contact lens care, visual hygiene, lighting arrangements, and safety factors.
- Consult with and refer patients to ophthalmologists or other healthcare practitioners if additional medical treatment is necessary.
- Implement continuing education and screening programs to promote optimal patient care.
Collaboration & Mentorship:
- Act as an administrative and operations resource to optometry student interns.
- Attend staff meetings as deemed necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited school of optometry, Doctor of Optometry degree.
- Valid California Optometry license.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certificate.
- One year internship and/or experience in a community clinic or private practice.
- Experience supervising student interns desirable.
