As we broaden our offerings to include coverage for Condominium and Homeowner Association properties, as well as apartments across Florida, we are in search of a Commercial Residential Claims Manager. This role will oversee the initial claims handling process while establishing and nurturing a new segment dedicated to daily operations in commercial residential claims.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of commercial residential claims, leading and expanding the team.
  • Develop and enhance processes and workflows tailored to commercial residential claims.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while collaborating with insured parties and external partners regarding claims management.
  • Maintain proactive communication with customers, setting clear expectations throughout the claims process.
  • Assess claims and resolve policy coverage matters beyond staff authority.
  • Analyze and interpret policies, forms, and records to ascertain coverage and the extent of liability.
  • Negotiate and resolve claims in alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  • Pursue ongoing education to stay informed about evolving laws and insurance processes.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards and adherence to claims protocols, facilitating timely payments.
  • Monitor and guide external partnerships, providing expert recommendations.
  • Mentor and develop team members, establishing goals and fostering success.
  • Conduct interviews and make staffing recommendations for team members.
  • Perform evaluations of open and closed files to assess operational effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the achievement of business production targets.
  • Establish appropriate claim reserves in accordance with established standards.
  • Analyze and develop statistical reports.
  • Represent the company with professionalism and a commitment to high-quality service.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Commercial Residential Claims across diverse property claims.
  • At least 3 years' experience with Florida insurance regulations and good faith claims handling.
  • 2 years of experience directly with an insurance carrier.
  • Leadership experience of 2+ years, including goal setting and performance management.
  • Active Florida 6-20 Resident All Lines Adjuster License.
  • Industry certifications or designations are advantageous.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of Homeowners Associations (HOAs), their operational processes, Bylaws, and CCR (Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions).
  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial residential property claims practices and legal terminology.
  • Strong grasp of insurance-related legal procedures and claims processing.
  • Proven negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Xactimate is a plus.
  • Excellent planning, analytical, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally.
  • Data-driven and analytical mindset.
  • Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, and operational guidelines effectively.
  • Proficient in MSO/365 applications including Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
