Commercial Property Claims Adjuster

As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for handling losses and claims for property and casualty insurers. You'll examine insurance policies, interview claimants and witnesses, and consult police and hospital records to determine the extent of our liability. Your attention to detail and strong communication skills will be essential in estimating costs, preparing reports, and negotiating settlements.
With a strong focus on customer service, you'll work closely with our clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions. You'll also have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge through training and professional development programs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Examine insurance policies and other records to determine insurance coverage
- Interview claimants and witnesses to gather information
- Consult police and hospital records to determine the extent of our liability
- Estimate costs and prepare reports
- Negotiate settlements with claimants
- Recommends litigation by legal department when settlement cannot be negotiated
- Attends litigation hearings
- Revises case reserves in assigned claims files to cover probable costs
- Assists in preparing loss experience report to help determine profitability
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
- Obtain IIA-AIC designation within 12 to 18 months
- Appropriate state adjuster license is required
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
- Demonstrated commitment to timely reporting
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good time management and organizational skills
