Job Title: Commercial Residential Claims Manager

Slide is a cutting-edge technology-enabled insurance company disrupting the industry. We are expanding our product offerings to insure condominium and homeowner association properties, and apartments in Florida. As a Commercial Residential Claims Manager, you will be responsible for the initial handling of claims, building, and developing a new segment for daily commercial residential claims operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily commercial residential claims while leading and growing the team.
  • Develop and support processes and workflows specific to commercial residential claims.
  • Utilize superior customer service skills while working with insured and external business partners regarding the handling and/or disposition of claims and other issues.
  • Proactively communicate and set accurate claims expectations with customers throughout the claims process while providing high-quality customer service.
  • Evaluate claims and address policy coverage issues in excess of staff authority.
  • Examine, analyze, and appropriately interpret policies, forms, and other records to determine coverage and extent of company's exposure or liability.
  • Negotiate and settle claims in accordance with Slide's best practices, guidelines, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continued education opportunities to remain abreast of emerging laws or other required changes to insurance-related processes.
  • Appropriately apply knowledge of multiple state statutes, including the insurance code of ethics, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Ensure legal compliance, adherence to claims processes, and timely payments.
  • Remain abreast of emerging laws or other required changes to insurance-related processes.
  • Assign, direct, monitor, and assist in building external partnerships and making expert recommendations.
  • Coach, train, and develop team members; set goals and lead to success.
  • Conduct team member interviews and make staffing recommendations.
  • Conduct Open and Closed File Reviews to evaluate and document overall operational value.
  • Contribute to the business production goals and objectives.
  • Establish timely and appropriate claim reserves in accordance with claim standards.
  • Develop and analyze statistical reports.
  • Appropriately represent the company by executing a high level of service and always maintaining professionalism.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of a High School diploma and pertinent work experience is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Commercial Residential Claims dealing with a wide variety of property claims required.
  • 3+ years' experience with Florida insurance laws and Florida good faith claims handling required.
  • 2+ years of experience working directly for an insurance carrier.
  • 3+ years of experience with Florida insurance laws and Florida good faith claims handling required.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience including setting of goals and managing performance.
  • Active Florida 6-20 Resident All Lines Adjuster License.
  • Industry designations or certifications a plus.
