Role Overview
The Senior Credit Analyst plays a pivotal role in assessing and managing the financial profiles of existing and potential clients. This position involves the creation of comprehensive credit presentations for Loan Officers, the Chief Credit Officer, and other members of the Executive Management team. Additionally, the analyst is tasked with generating various reports for the credit department.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed analyses of financial statements, often involving intricate and interconnected relationships.
- Provide support to lending officers regarding credit issues and loan assessments.
- Gather data to perform portfolio concentration assessments.
- Assist in the formulation of monthly borrowing base certificates.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports required by the business line.
- Perform industry evaluations and offer strategic recommendations.
- Keep the Chief Credit Officer and Loan Officers informed about relevant trends affecting specific loans, portfolios, or industries.
- Supply credit information and references for clients, loan officers, or other agencies as needed.
Qualifications
The following specifications serve as general guidelines based on the minimum experience typically deemed essential for successful performance in this role:
- A Bachelor's degree (BA) from an accredited four-year institution, along with a minimum of four years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Related experience should encompass a thorough background in financial statement analysis.
- Educational experiences, including in-house training sessions or formal education in finance, should be applicable to the financial sector.
- Proficiency in analyzing large, complex financial statements and tax returns, along with the ability to conduct cash flow forecasting.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- 1-2 years of experience in credit analysis within the commercial banking sector.
- Excellent analytical and conceptual abilities.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
