Job Overview

First Continental Mortgage, Ltd is on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced Mortgage Loan Originator to support prospective homeowners in securing financing for their new residences.

With over three decades of experience, First Continental Mortgage, Ltd has consistently aimed to assist families in achieving their dream of homeownership. As a comprehensive, FNMA, HUD, and VA approved national mortgage lending firm, we pride ourselves on our robust partnerships with home builders.

In 2023, we successfully funded $2.1 Billion through collaborations with numerous home builders, several of which are recognized among the Top 35 Home Builders in the nation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new mortgage loan applications while nurturing existing client relationships within builder communities.
  • Conduct regular sales outreach to foster new business opportunities and maintain current accounts.
  • Meet or exceed monthly production targets as outlined by management.
  • Guide clients through loan product options by reviewing applications and supporting documents, ensuring proper pre-qualification for creditworthiness.
  • Provide comprehensive information regarding the risks and benefits associated with each loan program the client qualifies for, clearly communicating the terms of each product.
  • Advise clients on available loan lock options and ensure timely locking of loans.
  • Stay informed and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Act as the primary liaison for all parties involved throughout the loan process.
  • Participate in builder sales meetings to educate on various loan products, enhancing sales efforts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a current NMLS license.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a loan originator, with direct experience in working with builders being advantageous.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage products and the ability to grasp and apply complex financial concepts related to residential lending.
  • Advanced knowledge of mortgage sales and marketing, with the capability to present and promote products effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to market changes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with production, underwriting, closing, and other internal and external partners.
