Role Overview:
As a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) at Silverton Mortgage, you will operate under the guidance of a Branch Manager to originate residential mortgage loans that align with Silverton's criteria.

The MLO's responsibilities encompass adhering to all Federal and State regulations governing the mortgage industry, as well as relevant laws in states where Silverton is licensed.

Responsibilities and Tasks:
  • Maintain a valid Mortgage Loan Originator license and ensure up-to-date details in the National Mortgage Licensing System.
  • Adhere to Silverton's specific compliance policies, including Anti-Money Laundering protocols, Safeguard Governance, Regulation Z, Red Flag regulations, RESPA, and other guidelines.
  • Meet production targets outlined by the Branch Manager.
  • Manage the loan origination process from start to finish, including quoting, application submission, compliance with RESPA, Reg Z, Fair Credit Reporting guidelines, and collection of necessary documentation from clients.
  • Clearly explain the loan procedure to borrowers, outlining their responsibilities throughout the application and loan period.
  • Validate borrower-provided information, review applications, and organize files for underwriting submission, meeting all stipulations.
  • Facilitate file submissions for processing.
  • Effectively manage your schedule to align with business hours and customer availability, ensuring accessibility to clients and Silverton's support team.
  • Independently generate leads, focusing on referrals from existing clients and connections.
Education, Proficiency, Experience:
  • Fulfill all Mortgage Loan Originator prerequisites as stipulated in the SAFE Act, which includes successful completion of mandated background checks and acquiring a Unique Identifier from the NMLS.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in residential mortgage origination is preferred.
  • Demonstrated residential mortgage loan volume within the past 12 months.
  • Established affiliations with local referral sources.
Skills:
  • Proficiency in clear and effective verbal and written communication across various audiences.
  • Strong computer prowess, including adeptness with laptop technology and loan origination software.
  • Exceptional time management abilities.
Technological Proficiencies:
  • Internet Explorer.
  • Microsoft Office.
