Role Overview:

The Vice President of Finance and Accounting will be tasked with enhancing financial processes, reporting, and systems. Key responsibilities include managing the accounting functions for various divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee divisional finance leaders, providing accounting expertise and guidance.
  2. Manage comprehensive financial reporting and budgeting across the organization, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. This encompasses the preparation of consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages, along with budget and reforecast reports.
  3. Conduct cash flow forecasting and analysis.
  4. Assist the CFO in developing, refining, and upholding accounting policies, controls, and best practices.
  5. Lead the annual audit process, acting as the primary liaison with external auditors and coordinating audit requests with divisional financial leaders.
  6. Collaborate with external tax professionals regarding state and federal tax matters.
  7. Ensure adherence to GAAP, verifying that month-end reconciliations are completed accurately and promptly.
  8. Serve as the system administrator for NetSuite and the main contact for managed service providers.
  9. Manage the accounting functions for various divisions.
  10. Oversee the accounts payable process, including analysis of company credit card usage.
  11. Review and process all cash transfers and disbursements.
  12. Ensure the timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  13. Handle monthly closing procedures and maintain the general ledger for the divisions.
  14. Monitor revenue and expenses, providing analysis and recommendations as necessary.
  15. Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and year-end reports.
  16. Establish and maintain financial controls within the accounting department as needed.
  17. Adhere to administrative deadlines and respond promptly to requests from accounting and administrative staff.
  18. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
  2. 7+ years of relevant experience; experience in the advertising/marketing services sector is advantageous.
  3. Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
  4. Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, monthly closing processes, financial statement issuance, and payroll.
  5. Familiarity with federal and state tax regulations and reporting.
  6. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to convert data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  8. Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is a plus.
  9. Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams, emphasizing mentorship, professional development, and a collaborative work environment.
  10. Ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting, with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  11. Capacity to build strong relationships and become a trusted partner to colleagues, advisors, stakeholders, and contacts.
  12. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
