Financial Reporting Leadership Opportunity

Citizens, Inc. is seeking a seasoned financial professional to lead our financial reporting efforts. As Vice President of Financial Reporting, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial reporting, analysis, and compliance functions, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of reported results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee financial reporting, analysis, and compliance functions, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of reported results.
  • Partner with the CFO to determine financial reporting implications for all material business decisions.
  • Manage and control all financial reporting related activities, including preparation of financial statements, reports, and regulatory filings.
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial reporting processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to review financial information and forecasts, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure the integrity, performance, and maintenance of the financial data and reporting environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (4-year degree).
  • Requires more than ten (10) years of experience directing and overseeing financial accounting and financial reporting in a public company environment with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a senior financial leadership position.
  • Life insurance or banking industry experience is required.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience with SEC filings; XBRL experience is required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor preferred.
