About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Paralegal to join our team in the Office of Adjudications, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. As a Paralegal, you will play a critical role in supporting the operations of our office, ensuring the smooth conduct of administrative proceedings, and providing exceptional support to our staff attorneys.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the operations of the Office of Adjudications, including drafting notices of administrative proceedings and administering participation in remote and in-person proceedings.
  • Assist the public and self-represented individuals in matters before the office, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Conduct research and assist in projects related to environmental permitting, licensing, and enforcement matters.
  • Perform related duties as required, including data organization, document preparation, and communication with stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and tracking documents, as well as experience with Microsoft Office and other productivity software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a government agency, law firm, or corporation.
  • Experience with environmental law and policy, including permitting, licensing, and enforcement.
  • Experience with data organization and analysis, including the use of spreadsheets and databases.
  • Ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
