Job Purpose

The ADAS Hardware Engineer is a key member of our team, responsible for the development of Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) hardware and software integration to support AD & ADAS functions. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle structure, component integration, simulation, and software integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the hardware integration to the vehicle to ensure mechanical and electrical requirements are fulfilled.
  • Lead mechanical simulation and testing for hardware components.
  • Project manage responsible development and research projects.
  • Instrument and troubleshoot vehicles for testing.
  • Analyze and report the results of simulation and test data.
  • Recommend solutions for test failures and collaborate with relevant departments.
  • Analyze performance of complex systems using automated software-driven techniques.
  • Generate test reports to document results of testing and communicate issues discovered.
  • Design, fabricate, and modify test equipment and data acquisition systems to meet internal needs.
  • Collaborate with external test labs and proving grounds to direct testing activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET), Computer Science Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle structure, component integration, simulation, and software integration.
  • Hands-on mechanical ability and understanding of vehicle systems.
  • Analytical skills to prepare prototype vehicles for testing.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and propose solutions.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for testing activities.
  • Valid driver's license required to operate vehicles on proving grounds.
  • Proficiency in PC skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other technical software.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with data acquisition systems and Vector CAN tools is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Strong collaboration skills.

Working Conditions

  • Commitment to work necessary hours to achieve all responsibilities, including overtime and flexible work schedules.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs.
  • Kneeling, bending, sitting, standing, and maneuvering inside of vehicles is required.
  • Travel is sometimes required, approximately 5% (International travel may be requested).
  • Office work is split between on-site and remote (Work From Home, WFH).
  • Vehicle-level testing is conducted either on-site in a specified lab or offsite at a supplier/contracted facility.
