As a Crash Safety Simulation Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting impact simulations focused on vehicle safety. This role involves utilizing advanced simulation software to assess crash performance and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute and analyze crash safety simulations using LS-DYNA.
- Assess simulation results against established automotive safety benchmarks, including the New Car Assessment Program and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety criteria.
- Identify necessary countermeasures to enhance performance when simulation results fall short of expectations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Produce comprehensive engineering documentation and reports detailing simulation analyses.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant industry experience as a CAE analyst, with proficiency in specific solver software based on departmental needs.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with LS-DYNA, including pre- and post-processing tools such as ANSA and Meta-Post for complex vehicle system modeling and analysis.
- An advanced degree may substitute for 2 years of required experience.
