Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Development Senior Engineer to join our team at Honda Development and Manufacturing of America. As a key member of our Power Unit Development Division, you will be responsible for developing and guaranteeing the correct powertrain hardware package required to meet all developmental, marketability, and regulatory targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy Development: Gather the latest global hardware specs from 4MOC / ADC and compile a comprehensive plan for application to future, responsible development models.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work directly with all powertrain related function groups to guarantee harmonious hardware maturation schedules and lead critical meetings to resolve conflicts between competing groups / departments.
  • Problem Solving: Support investigation of hardware / calibration issues that come up during development and develop corrective hardware plans as necessary.
  • Reporting and Authorization: Clearly and concisely report the status of hardware / calibration maturation to both function management side as well as team side, and lead regular test data review meetings and MaruQ preparation events to validate the hardware and calibrations that are being applied to a development.
Requirements
  • Education: BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience: 8 years related experience or equivalent level of education and experience.
  • Skills: Proficient PC skills, including but not limited to excel, PowerPoint, and Matlab.
Working Conditions

Associate will work on the actual engine / vehicle with hand and power tools. Candidate can expect to spend a portion of their time working in the lab – confirming their systems on bench, on the car, or in thermal chambers. Associate will perform analysis and documentation, then communicate findings to varying levels of management.
