Position Overview:

The Senior Product Owner for Billing Solutions is a pivotal member of WP Engine's Business Transformation team, tasked with a vital role in reshaping our core business operations. Reporting directly to the VP of Business Transformation, this position will spearhead the enterprise product vision, strategy, and roadmap, collaborating across various departments to enhance, optimize, and deliver measurable value across key business functions. Key business functions include marketing, sales, provisioning, billing, finance, accounting, customer service, human resources, and information technology. This transformation is crucial as we transition from a sales-driven growth model to one focused on customer journey, aiming for sustainable profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Design Thinking workshops, articulate problem statements, define minimum viable products, and create digital transformation roadmaps.
  • Partner with the experience design team to conduct persona and market research, develop persona profiles, and create journey maps, high-fidelity prototypes, and wireframes that deliver exceptional user experiences.
  • Guide software development teams to produce solutions that enhance customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, increase revenue, and reduce costs.
  • Lead process engineers focused on operational excellence, skilled in value metrics and insights, to evaluate future state benefits, develop business cases, and provide ongoing improvement insights.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define, refine, and advance the solution from MVP to future state.
  • Oversee product and sprint backlogs, fostering continuous improvements in agile practices and increasing delivery velocity.
  • Stay informed on Agile/Scrum best practices and emerging trends.
  • Translate strategies and business objectives into manageable, rapidly deliverable value and experiments.
  • Deliver product outcomes in regular short cycles, aligning 4-8 week product plans with long-term vision and strategy.
  • Act as a product advocate through thought leadership and engagement with industry communities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to foster clarity, cooperation, alignment, and momentum behind our objectives and product plans.
  • Evaluate value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure focus on high-value work aligned with WP Engine's strategy.
  • Ensure a well-defined task backlog for agile development teams.
  • Work with development teams to manage overall delivery, timelines, and quality.
  • Define and implement adoption strategies, incentives, and campaigns to drive value realization.
  • Collaborate with training and change management resources to develop product training criteria, curriculum, and content, overseeing training delivery.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain top talent in product management, process engineering, and business analysis.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and customer empathy.
  • Encourage a growth-oriented, disruptive mindset that challenges established norms and breaks down silos to create optimal designs.
  • Architect solutions and operating models that are optimal, making measured compromises to achieve adoptable designs.
  • Continuously monitor solution adoption, adjusting designs to enhance uptake while tracking value delivered.
  • Represent the business transformation organization at the executive level, facilitating communication across functions and leadership.
  • Identify core opportunities for growth and operational effectiveness that maximize impact.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience as a product owner with a focus on Billing, Invoicing, and Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) for high-tech software subscription products.
  • Familiarity with Netsuite SuiteBilling features, Salesforce, Hubspot, LeanData, ZenDesk, and Gainsight is advantageous.
  • Experience with Sales-Assisted and Self-Service orders is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required.

Your Expertise and Passion:

  • A highly motivated leader with a genuine interest in business transformation and a passion for leading product and process improvement initiatives.
  • Preferably, experience in the technology or high-tech sector.
  • Proficient in Agile Software development methodologies.
  • Some knowledge in AI, NLP, BPM, RPA, ChatBots, and data analytics is beneficial.
  • Adaptable, analytical, and ambitious, with a talent for partnering and delivering value to all stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in building and leading high-performance product and process transformation teams.
  • Demonstrated career progression with increasing responsibilities in product and program management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of innovating for internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a knack for helping others understand the context behind decisions.
  • Ability to utilize qualitative and quantitative analysis for prioritization and trade-off decisions.
  • Experience balancing product plans based on stakeholder insights and business impact.
  • Proven ability to influence and align with executives on product priorities while remaining hands-on.
  • Track record of achieving revenue growth, user experience improvements, and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to implement robust processes that support the organization through various growth stages.

Compensation:
The estimated base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $210,000. Compensation is determined by the role's responsibilities and market value, with potential eligibility for overtime pay. The actual base pay will vary based on job-related skills and qualifications assessed during the interview process.
