Job Summary:
Midlands Neurology and Pain Associates, P.A. is seeking a highly skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of billing, including accounts receivables, claims submission, and payment posting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage claim denials from insurance companies and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding unpaid claims and negotiate settlements.
- Review and correct claims to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Post payments and maintain accurate records of patient accounts.
- Identify and resolve patient billing inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Perform various collection actions, including contacting insurance companies and patients by phone.
- Utilize time and resources effectively to meet performance goals and improve revenue cycle efficiency.
- Communicate billing-related issues with management and provide recommendations for process improvements.
Requirements:
- Medical Billing Certification.
- 3+ years of previous medical collections experience with general insurance billing practice knowledge required.
- Must have 3-4 years of experience in CPT & ICD-9/10 Coding.
- Billing-related background in a physician clinic setting preferred with experience in working on accounts receivable.
- Attention to detail, consistent, productive, able to meet deadlines.
Working Conditions:
This is an in-office position, requiring the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
