Postdoctoral Research Fellow

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team at the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for initiating and carrying out research projects in collaboration with our research team.
Key Responsibilities- Design, conduct, and supervise high-throughput machine learning processes with a focus on geospatial analysis, including geographically weighted regression, spatial modeling, and mathematical modeling.
- Foster and develop new collaborations with government agencies, academic institutions, mosquito control districts, local and corporate business companies, and research entities to support laboratory missions and force health protection.
- Mainstream work efforts and resources with other departments at the Uniformed Services University to promote a competitive work environment.
- Develop and establish ecological indicators of arthropod vectors and their associated diseases.
- Prepare drafts of grant proposals for funding by reputable government and non-governmental agencies.
- Prepare drafts of reports, presentations, and scientific papers for publication.
- Demonstrate published projects on public health products, such as papers, platforms, software, and codes.
- Verbal and written communication skills for preparing data reports and presentations.
- Ability to work independently at times and/or without direct supervision.
- This position will take place primarily in a laboratory setting.
- Doctoral degree in a related field, such as bioinformatics, entomology, evolutionary biology, parasitology, public health, or animal science.
- Minimum of 5 years' total experience in ecological and biodiversity studies.
- Minimum of 0-5 years postdoctoral degree experience required.
