Embark on a Finance Career with Cardinal Health

Cardinal Health's Embark Program is a 12-month professional development and capability building program designed for recent college graduates interested in the finance industry. Through a robust career readiness journey, participants will gain the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the organization and build connections while working on challenging assignments that aid in growing and owning their career path.

About the Program

The Finance function at Cardinal Health oversees the accounting, tax, financial plans, and policies of the organization, establishing and maintaining fiscal controls, preparing and interpreting financial reports, and overseeing financial systems and safeguarding the organization's assets. Participants will serve in a full-time capacity on a team within the Finance function and will have the opportunity to support the organization in various ways, including:

  • Reviewing and analyzing key account profitability and developing recommendations to improve profitability
  • Developing, analyzing, and preparing reporting capabilities to support strategic initiatives
  • Completing financial reporting to support the business
  • Utilizing technology to automate financial processes
  • Developing a strategic pricing framework to align business strategy to pricing strategy for the region by country
  • Demonstrating knowledge of financial processes, accounting policies, systems, controls, and work streams
Accountabilities

Participants will be expected to demonstrate the following skills and qualities:

  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures
  • Quality and results orientation with a proactive approach
  • Ability to prioritize requests effectively and understand importance and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with moderate level of direction
  • Must be willing to adapt to shifting requirements or priorities
Qualifications

To be considered for the Embark Program, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
  • Expected graduation of winter 2024 or spring 2025
  • Intermediate/advanced proficiency of Microsoft Excel
  • Previous internship experience
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
  • Participation in extracurricular activities and/or community service
  • Must have unlimited work authorization in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship
