Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Strategic Accounts to join our team at AFS Logistics, LLC. As a key member of our sales and account management team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our existing clients, as well as driving revenue growth by selling our transportation solutions to qualified prospects and current clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy to drive revenue growth and client retention
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, including regular communication and contact to provide outstanding in-region client support
  • Prospect and sell multimodal/multiservice opportunities within assigned region, identifying and acquiring new clients for AFS services
  • Manage the AFS customer experience to ensure client retention, working closely with the Account Management team
  • Conduct structured periodic business reviews with clients to demonstrate the benefits of AFS services and explore additional opportunities
  • Understand and communicate the value proposition of AFS transportation modes to clients
  • Generate leads through cold-calling, customer referrals, tradeshows, and marketing leads
  • Act as a client advocate, working with operations and pricing groups to develop pricing and proposals, and monitoring progress during service launch
  • Build cross-functional relationships with influencers in each account, including CFOs, COOs, and Transportation Managers
Requirements
  • Solid sales, account management, and transportation knowledge
  • Consultative sales training or experience
  • Ability to deliver effective communications and obtain client commitment
  • Strong network of contacts in the transportation industry
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with C-level decision makers
  • Willingness to prospect for new business
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with various groups
  • Highly motivated and self-driven with a persuasive personality
  • Superior decision making, problem solving, negotiations, verbal, and written skills
  • Proficient in Salesforce, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in business, management, or related field preferred or equivalent work experience. 5 years or more of transportation experience in multiple modes, and minimum of 3 years business development experience with third-party or contract logistics.
