Interim Inventory Financial Manager

Vaco is seeking an Interim Inventory Financial Manager for a prominent consumer goods organization. This position is responsible for managing all facets of inventory finance, which includes variance assessments, inventory reserve computations, and account reconciliations. This role presents a distinctive chance to create and implement monthly financial and operational reports related to inventory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the quarterly cycle count procedure and ensure system reconciliations in collaboration with the Operations team.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between recorded and actual inventory amounts.
  • Prepare and review end-of-period entries, account reconciliations, and analyses.
  • Serve as the inventory contact for external auditors, preparing documentation and analyzing relevant data.
  • Facilitate end-of-period closings and guarantee the timely completion of inventory-related responsibilities.
  • Assess, develop, and implement accounting and operational policies and procedures.
  • Conduct thorough variance analysis on designated accounts.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports and analyses as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with a minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, including supervisory and management roles.
  • CPA certification is mandatory, along with 3+ years of audit experience from a national or global accounting firm (Big 4 preferred).
  • Experience in public companies and/or consumer goods organizations is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in inventory accounting.
  • Strong understanding and application of US GAAP.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional project management capabilities.
  • Direct experience with accounting ERP systems (NetSuite or SAP preferred).
