Vaco is currently seeking an Interim Inventory Financial Manager for a prominent consumer goods organization. This pivotal role encompasses the management of all facets of inventory financial operations, including variance assessments, inventory reserve computations, and account reconciliations. The position presents a distinctive opportunity to craft and implement monthly financial and operational reports related to inventory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the quarterly cycle count process and ensure system reconciliations in collaboration with the Operations department.
  • Investigate and rectify discrepancies between recorded and actual inventory figures.
  • Prepare and evaluate period-end journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analyses.
  • Serve as the primary inventory contact for external auditors, preparing documentation and analyzing relevant data.
  • Facilitate the period-end closing process and guarantee the timely completion of inventory-related closing tasks.
  • Assess, develop, and enforce accounting and operational policies and procedures.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis on designated accounts.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports and analyses as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with a minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, including supervisory and managerial roles.
  • CPA certification is mandatory, along with 3+ years of audit experience from a recognized global or national accounting firm (Big 4 experience is advantageous).
  • Experience in public companies and/or consumer goods organizations is a plus.
  • Proficiency in inventory accounting practices.
  • Strong understanding and application of US GAAP.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Robust project management capabilities.
  • Direct experience with accounting ERP systems (NetSuite or SAP preferred).
