Behavioral Aide

Elk Hill Farm, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Aide to join our team. As a Behavioral Aide, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive environment for adolescents to make positive changes in their attitude, values, and behavior.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise students during in-house suspension and re-entry programs
- Work with the Head of School to coordinate consequences for students
- Monitor hallway activity and assist in problem-solving/conflict resolutions with students
- Provide assistance in classrooms when extra coverage is necessary
- Maintain a high standard of childcare during coverage, including documentation
- Provide a positive model at all times and build positive, caring relationships with the youth
- Advocate the rights of the youth and conduct documented individual treatment sessions
- Conduct family counseling sessions, both individual and group, and work closely with referring agencies and parents
- Model high professional standards in interactions with students, families, agency workers, and staff members
- Work towards annual goals for personal and professional development
- Assist in pre-placement interviews when needed and facilitate group recreational activities
- Work cooperatively with staff to improve the quality of the total program and promote an atmosphere of openness, honesty, and understanding among students, staff, and other persons associated with Elk Hill
- Demonstrate a high level of competence, motivation, and commitment as a staff member
- High School diploma required with three years' experience working with ED/LD youth; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Experience teaching Special Education preferred
- Crisis intervention training and experience
- Good physical health
- Ability to work effectively with other staff and implement educational plans meeting the individualized needs of students
- Valid driver's license
- Sense of humor
