POSITION SUMMARY


This entry-level management role is dedicated to facilitating the daily operations of Rooms Management, which encompasses areas such as Housekeeping, Recreation, Laundry, Staff, AYS, and Concierge/Guest Services. The position involves collaborating with team members to ensure smooth guest arrival and departure processes while upholding the highest cleanliness standards across the property.

The aim is to enhance both guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to the operational budget.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED; 3 years of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or a related field.
OR

  • 2-year degree from an accredited institution in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related discipline; 1 year of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or a related field.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Assisting in Rooms Operations Management

  • Manages the opening and closing of Front Desk shifts / Housekeeping, ensuring all assigned tasks and checklists are completed.
  • Analyzes and reviews essential information from room operations reports.
  • Comprehends the functions of Recreation, Laundry, Housekeeping, Bell Staff, AYS, Front Desk, and Concierge/Guest Services.
  • Operates departmental equipment as needed and reports any malfunctions.
  • Ensures staff have the necessary supplies and uniforms.
  • Understands night audit procedures and can interpret and utilize reports as required.
  • Follows loss prevention policies and procedures.
  • Communicates performance expectations to employees in line with their job descriptions.
  • Addressees employee inquiries and concerns.
  • Effectively schedules staff according to business needs and monitors employee attendance.

Contributing to Budget Management

  • Supervises same-day selling strategies to optimize room revenue and property occupancy.
  • Verifies room rate accuracy to enhance revenue opportunities.
  • Utilizes budgets, operating statements, and payroll reports to assist in managing Room Operations.
  • Participates in controlling departmental expenses to meet or exceed budget goals.
  • Understands the influence of Room Operations on the overall financial objectives of the property.

Enhancing the Guest Experience

  • Assists in investigating employee and guest incidents.
  • Utilizes a guest information tracking system to implement a successful repeat guest recognition program.
  • Sets a positive standard for guest relations.
  • Engages with guests to gather feedback on service quality and product offerings; effectively addresses and resolves guest issues, seeking supervisor assistance when necessary.
  • Participates in reviewing guest feedback and satisfaction metrics with staff.
The hourly pay range for this position is $24.04 to $26.92.
