POSITION SUMMARY


Under general oversight, this role involves the systematic loading and unloading of materials at the designated work area; prepares load configurations for transportation to client locations.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Efficiently loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trucks, or client vehicles, utilizing strapping, bracing, or padding to ensure stability and prevent damage during transit.


Conducts load assembly, assessing the suitable weight, composition, and arrangement of materials based on client specifications and vehicle capacity to guarantee a balanced and secure load for transport.

Interprets work orders or follows verbal instructions to ascertain materials to be moved or loaded.

Transports materials from storage to designated locations using hand trucks, electric dollies, forklifts, or other equipment.

Opens containers and loads materials using tools such as steel cutters, crowbars, or hammers.


Labels materials with identifying tags or marks to ensure accurate identification of items.


Adheres to all safety protocols and practices to prevent injuries to self and colleagues; participates in regular safety meetings as required; may suggest improvements to safety procedures.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

SUPERVISORY ROLE
This position does not entail supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role, an individual must be capable of performing each essential duty effectively. The following requirements represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for this position.


A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) along with three (3) months of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Forklift certification is mandatory.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Forklift operator certification is required.

Knowledge of company products sufficient to consider weight, shape, and handling requirements.

Ability to read and write to manage work orders and labeling tasks.

Manual dexterity is essential.

Proficiency in using basic hand tools.

Awareness of safety protocols during forklift operation and materials handling.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to execute detailed but straightforward written or verbal instructions.

Capability to count items and verify against prepared lists.
