Position Title:
Manufacturing Machine Operator - Night Shift

Location:
Athens, GA

Role Summary:
The Manufacturing Machine Operator plays a vital role in supporting Mativ's Filtration Advanced Materials division. This position is focused on the safe and efficient management of machine lines, encompassing setup, startup, and optimal utilization of line equipment, including auxiliary tools, monitoring, testing, and production documentation.

Shift Details:
The operational hours for this role are from 7:45 PM to 8:00 AM (night shift), with initial training conducted during daytime hours for the first few weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

Setup:
- Interpret and comprehend production schedules, BOM, and SOC.
- Execute all setup functions, including:
- Selecting appropriate tooling
- Installing tooling
- Ensuring correct resin usage

Startup:
- Adjust all controls to SOC; initiate extruder and auxiliary drives; conduct initial product testing; make necessary adjustments; confirm product specifications; package products according to guidelines; troubleshoot processes; perform QC tests per SOC; validate process control; store finished products as instructed; accurately enter data into the Data Collection system.

Tooling Management:
- Identify and address tooling damage and wear; clean and return all utilized tooling to stock.

Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to accident reporting procedures; maintain cleanliness in the work area; comply with all OSHA and company safety regulations; be familiar with the locations of MSDS, first aid supplies, fire extinguishers, and exits.

Qualifications:

Preferred Skills:
- Forklift certification
- Familiarity with the Data Collection System
- Mechanical aptitude
- Proficiency in both Metric and English measurement systems and conversion
- Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, and rulers
- Basic computer literacy
- Fundamental mathematical skills

Position Demands:

Working Conditions:
- The role is set in a manufacturing environment with varying air temperatures.
- The atmosphere may include dust, fumes, and odors.
- Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including:
- Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe)
- Safety glasses
- Protective gloves for specific tasks
- Hearing protection when necessary
- Additional PPE as required for certain duties.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
- Capability to work 12-hour shifts.
- Perform repetitive tasks.
- Regularly stand, sit, hear, walk, and communicate.
- Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and balance, sometimes in confined spaces.
- Possess good close vision, depth perception, and focus ability.
- Meet Mativ certification standards for operating PIVs (if applicable).
