Job Overview - Heavy Equipment Technician

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Advocacy:

Actively engage in promoting safety within the operation for yourself and your colleagues, adhering to MSHA and Vulcan safety standards at all times.


Mobile Equipment Maintenance:

Conduct servicing, repairs, adjustments, and testing of all mobile machinery operating throughout the facility to enhance performance and minimize downtime.


Equipment and Material Inspection:
Perform thorough inspections of all mobile equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot errors. Execute repairs as necessary to resolve issues.

Material Handling:

Safely manage, install, position, and transport parts, materials, and industrial hand tools throughout the workshop and facility.


Documentation and Reporting:
Ensure accurate and timely documentation is completed daily and monthly regarding all mobile equipment. Maintain service reports for all mobile machinery in both written and electronic formats.

Equipment Operation:
Assist in operating heavy machinery and vehicles within the facility to ensure smooth production processes.

Physical Activities:

Engage in physical tasks that require full-body movement and significant use of arms and legs, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Knowledge of

Familiarity with general principles and practices related to servicing heavy construction machinery is preferred.

Adaptability:
Willingness to work overtime and extended hours based on customer and company needs. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and tolerate exposure to loud environments.

Mechanical Proficiency:
Basic understanding of industrial tools, their applications, and maintenance is required.
