We are seeking a highly skilled professional who can proficiently interpret and analyze construction bid documents, including specifications, manuals, addendums, and blueprints for various projects across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expertly read and comprehend construction contracts to develop accurate project cost projections based on job duration, labor, materials, and necessary equipment.
- Demonstrate extensive experience in various construction activities, including concrete foundation work, asphalt work, masonry, carpentry, and site demolition.
- Manage project scheduling and effectively phase construction tasks.
- Conduct scope verifications and prepare project estimates for multiple construction projects concurrently.
- Utilize advanced computer skills, particularly with on-screen take-off programs and electronic estimating software.
- Independently source material costs to ensure accurate unit pricing.
- Exhibit strong analytical skills and effective communication abilities when engaging with clients.
- Adapt to the dynamic nature of the construction industry and coordinate all phases of construction.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction cost estimating, with project management experience being a plus.
- A degree in Civil Engineering is preferred but not mandatory.
- Prior experience in site labor or equipment operation is highly regarded.
- Familiarity with RSMeans Construction Cost Estimating Data is advantageous.
- Availability for flexible work hours and remote opportunities when applicable.
