Maintenance Project Inspector

The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Maintenance Project Inspector to join our team. As a key member of our Facilities Management department, you will be responsible for spearheading the facilities management project inspection initiatives, ensuring the quality and safety of our airport's safety systems and conveyance systems.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine and complex inspections of elevators, escalators, mechanized walkways, lift machinery, and fire safety systems to verify operation, construction, retrofit or repair, lifecycle, methods, quality assurance and workmanship.
- Inspect and ensure compliance of services provided by contractors, prioritizing safety, security procedures, and requirements.
- Maintain project lifecycle, monitoring project phases for on-time delivery and project timelines, and scheduling, verifying project completion, ensuring acceptable safety practices and compliance with safety standards.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders, contractors, and other project representatives to coordinate work activities, participate in contract selection processes, and attend project meetings.
- Provide technical advice, information, and interpretations regarding codes, laws, and regulations regarding building construction, and stay up-to-date with new trends and innovations in the field of building inspection and plan checking.
- Associate degree in engineering or a closely related field.
- Four years of paraprofessional, public works-related engineering experience, including drafting and construction and electrical and mechanical inspection responsibilities.
- Or two years of relevant college-level coursework and two years of paraprofessional engineering technician experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- A California Class C driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Authority's vehicle insurance policy.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Certifications through the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA), the Association of Facilities Engineering (AFE), Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI), US Green Building Council (USGBC), the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), International Code Council (ICC), American Construction Inspectors Association (ACIA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), or other related licenses or certifications.
The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority offers a competitive salary range of $67,839 to $108,543, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development in a dynamic and diverse work environment.
