Project Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Maintenance Project Inspector to join our Facilities Management team at the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our airport facilities and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine and complex inspections of electrical and mechanical installations, alterations, and repairs to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and codes.
- Monitor project phases, schedules, and timelines to ensure on-time delivery and completion.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders, contractors, and project representatives to coordinate work activities and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Provide technical advice and information regarding building codes, laws, and regulations.
- Analyze specifications, interpret plans, and prepare certificates of final inspection.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive records related to inspection activities.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop scope of work, generate bids, and coordinate contract execution.
- Associate degree in engineering or closely related field.
- Four years of paraprofessional, public works-related engineering experience, including drafting and construction and electrical and mechanical inspection responsibilities.
- Or two years of relevant college-level coursework and two years of paraprofessional engineering technician experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- A California Class C driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Authority's vehicle insurance policy.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, construction management, or related coursework.
- Certifications through International Facilities Management Association (IFMA), the Association of Facilities Engineering (AFE), Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI), US Green Building Council (USGBC), the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), International Code Council (ICC), American Construction Inspectors Association (ACIA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
This position requires flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and night shifts. The selected candidate will be required to operate specialized equipment, including computers and engineering software, and vehicles to travel to various Authority sites.
